OUR STAFF AND TEACHERS

Our staff and teachers play a crucial role at Kulkarriya Community School, significantly impacting both the educational experience and the overall community. A safe environment is paramount to a quality learning atmosphere. Kulkarriya Community School looks to promote a positive environment where all students and staff collaborate and learn together.

Christine Berberich

Principal
Christine is from Brisbane and has been Principal at Kulkarriya Community School since 2021. Christine loves to share her interests in hand crafts and quilting with students and community members. She is also partial to the odd Netflix TV show.

Brittany Reekie

Joeys Teacher
Brittany joined us in 2024 and has taken brilliantly to the school. Brittany is from New Zealand and is one of our two Kiwi residents. Her young Joey students are thriving in class and class numbers continue to grow.

Tayla Marmo

Kangaroos Teacher
Tayla joined Kulkarriya in 2024. She is from Victoria and teaches the Pre-Primary and Year 1 students in the Kangaroo class. Her students adore her, and their attendance rates are excellent.

Israel Miles

Parrots Teacher
Izzy has recently taken on a new role teaching our Parrot students and has performed excellently. He is one of our Kiwi staff members, loves sports and has provided great new ideas to the school.

Gavin Smith

Cockatoos Teacher
Gavin is from Perth, is a big Eagles footy fan and his favourite time of day is the morning. Gavin looks after the Cockatoos class and his students continue to improve immensely.

Emily Murphy

Turkeys Teacher
Emily is from Ireland and has adapted amazingly to community life. Emily has a full Turkey class most days and is excellent at keeping them in check.

Aminio Kaivuaqava

King Browns Teacher
Starting with us in 2024, Mini is from Fiji and has previously taught at Wulungurra School across the river. Mini is a hard worker and does well with his King Brown students.

Lachlan McConnell

Black-Headed Pythons Teacher
Lachie joined us at the beginning of Term 3, his partner Nikita and dog Biscuits are also here, Lachie likes soccer and running.

Chris Quinlan Price

Business Manager
Chris is Irish and has been our Business Manager since 2023. Chris loves all sports and the outdoors but struggles with the Kimberley heat.

Emy Kennedy

Learning Support
Emy joined Kulkarriya for the 2024 year. She’s from Victoria and has brought many new ideas and projects to the school. Her husband Rick is a builder and can be seen around school and the community. Emy’s sons Zaffa and Slater have also settled into the school brilliantly and made lots of new friends.

Nikita Iriks

Teaching Assistant
Nikita is Lachlan’s partner and has joined us as a Teaching Assistant, she has been a super addition and is always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.
